Mirrors in bathrooms tend to mist up just when you need them! Small bathrooms in particular suffer from steamed up mirrors even when the room is well ventilated. Even with good ventilation, the combination of high humidity and heat results in misted up and, therefore, useless mirrors.

There is a quick, easy and invisible solution to this problem. Install a mirror heater and shave or apply make-up when you want to without worrying that your bathroom mirror will steam up at any moment! Demist your mirror and you can look at yourself in the mirror immediately after showering every time!

What is a Mirror Heater (Mirror Demister)?

A mirror heater gently and safely heats the mirror just enough to prevent it from steaming up. Heat is reliably and evenly distributed across the surface of a heating pad which is hidden behind your mirror.

How do Mirror Heaters work?

A mirror heater is a low powered, 230 volt self-adhesive heating pad. The slim pad simply adheres to the back of your bathroom mirror. Once fitted, the mirror will never steam up in and around the area of the pad. The mirror heating pad is resistant to moisture, vibration, shock, dust and ageing. Our mirror heaters are reliable and long-lasting and for your peace of mind they are guaranteed for 10 years!

How easy is it to fit a Mirror Heater?

Mirror demisters/heaters are simply stuck to the back of any standard or safety-backed mirror. The mirror is normally connected to the existing room lighting system or extraction fan circuit. Just turn on your fan or switch on your light and your mirror heater automatically warms up to keep your mirror clear.

Demist your mirror in 3 easy steps:

  • As mirror heaters are self-adhesive, they are extremely easy to fit, just peel off the protective paper and stick to the back of the mirror.
  • Then connect to the power supply with the connecting cables provided.
  • Hang the mirror and enjoy a mist-free reflection.

How long will it take to heat up a mirror?

A mirror heater will usually heat the mirror enough to prevent misting or clear existing mist within 2 to 3 minutes of being switched on.

How big a Heating Pad can I fit on my bathroom mirror?

You can heat almost the entire mirror or just enough area to view the facial area – it’s up to you. The Mirror Demister should always be at least 100mm smaller in both width and height than the mirror to which it is applied. Heating pads are available in several different sizes. The mirror heater pads cannot be cut or trimmed.

Can I fit more than one Heating Pad on my mirror?

Two pads can be fitted to the back of a large mirror, if required. They should be butted together so that they act like one pad and need to be connected in parallel to the supply by your electrician.

Can any type of mirror be used?

Any normal mirror with or without safety backing may be heated. However, we do not recommend that our mirror heaters are used with foil backed or copper backed mirrors. Heated mirrors will expand and contract very slightly as they heat and cool. The mirror must be allowed to move either by mounting using mirror clips, flexible mirror adhesive, or if mirror screws must be used they must have rubber ferules fitted to allow for movement.
