Tile Backer Boards
We have added a new insulation board to our underfloor heating insulation range – FHO Tile Backer Board. It is currently available in 10mm thickness only but we will be adding to the range in the near future.

- Keyed surface ready to receive tile adhesive
They are suitable for wet rooms and are available (as a special order) in pre-formed shower trays for walk-in showers.
FHO Tile backer board is made in the UK, has a 30 tonne per square metre compression strength and is HFC and CFC free. It is constructed of a high density extruded polystyrene core with a glass fibre and cement face to each face – this is what gives it its excellent compressive strength and great adhesive quality. It is suitable for use with our Cable and Mat underfloor heating products such as:
FHO Tile Backer Boards can be used on timber or concrete floors – the timber floor should be solid and free of any movement. Fitting insulation will isolate the heating from the floor making the system more responsive and more efficient. It will also enable a higher power to be fitted such as Tiled Floor heating for Concrete Floors or Tiled Floor Heating for Conservatories.
The Tile backer boards are 600 x 1200 mm in size making each board 0.72 square metres in size. The minimum order quantity for the 10mm boards is 6 (one box). Once the minimum order quantity has been exceeded any number of boards can be purchased, be it 7 boards or 70. We recommend that you always purchase enough boards to allow for wastage, usually 5% extra or one spare whole board is sufficient.
