Example Calculation
We often get asked about running costs for electric underfloor heating so we decided to write this article to help out. From experience we know that over a period of 12 months the heating will be on for approximately 18% of the total time.
Obviously in the winter the on periods will be much longer, whilst during the summer this will be considerably less.
Considering one of our Tiled Floor Kits on a concrete floor of between 10.63 – 12.80m²
The Cable Kit for this size of room is a 1700W cable.
Taking the cost per kWh as 8p.
Calculation:
1.7 kW x £0.08 x 24 x 0.18 = £0.59 per day
Therefore estimated annual cost £0.59 x 7 x 52 = £214.76
